We loved reading the story 'Handa's Surprise' by Eileen Browne.

After we read the story we tried to remember all of the fruits that the animals had taken. We sequenced the story using human word sentencing.

After we finished retelling the story, we got to try some of the tasty fruits that are mentioned in the story. We ate some pineapple, mango and passionfruit. They were really yummy!

We also had lots of fun with the animal masks from the story. We got to pretend to be the different animals or characters in the story and acted out what happened.

After all the drama fun, our teacher taught us a new song called 'Go Mango Walk'. Once we had practiced it a few times we got to play instruments along to the beat of the song. We love playing the instruments!
