Our School Tour to Causey Farm

We went on our school tour to Causey Farm in Co. Meath. We got to go on a big double decker bus and it took an hour to get to the farm. We sang lots of songs to keep ourselves and our teacher entertained on the way!

We were so excited to reach the farm. Our day was full of lots of fun activities. First, we go to feed lots of different animals including donkeys, horses and cows. We also were allowed into the hen coop and some of us even to managed to catch a hen for a cuddle! We saw baby lambs and tiny piglets keeping warm beside their Mammy. The pig sty was really stinky!!

Next, we went into the barn and we did some giant bubble making. We've never seen such huge bubbles. It was hard at the start, but we quickly learned how to make the big bubbles.

Then, we got a cool ride on a trailer on the back of a tractor up to the bog. This was the really fun and messy part. We took off our shoes and socks and did some bog jumping!! It was loads of fun getting all dirty and we loved trying to run around in the bog. Sometimes our legs got stuck and we helped each other out. We tried to clean ourselves up as best we could and then we went on to learn about turf. We had a turf tower building competition.

We had a nice break for lunch and we finished off the tour by running around the maze and trying to find our way out. We made a big train and went in and out together in a big line. It was lots of fun.

We were sad the day had to come to an end but we were all so tired out from all the fun for one day. We give a big thumbs up for our tour, it was a great day out!
